Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is defined as “a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.” While emotional intelligence is not the only predictor of human performance and development potential, it has emerged as a critical competence for personal/professional success. Organizations (Public and Private) worldwide have integrated Emotional Intelligence into their training, development and coaching programs.
Thousands of consultants (internal and external) and higher education administrators have been trained and/or certified in a variety of EQ assessments. These assessments have added credibility and value to their organization’s emotional intelligence initiatives.
The original EQ-i® (Emotional Quotient Inventory), authored by Dr. Reuven-Bar On, was the first validated assessment instrument to measure social and emotional functioning. EQ-i 2.0 builds on the previous model and reflects the dramatic shift in cultural diversity and the changing attitudes and value systems in North America that have occurred since the original release in 1997.
The EQ360 is a companion assessment that provides additional analysis of emotional and social functioning by having those who work with your client provide feedback as well. Together, EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360 result in a more complete profile of an individual’s EQ which can be used to improve performance and promote professional growth.

EQ-i 2.0/EQ360 CertificationTraining will teach you what you need to know to successfully administer EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360. The session is designed to provide hands-on practice to help you internalize and strengthen your skill at interpreting and debriefing the EQ-i 2.0/EQ360. At the end of EQ-i 2.0/EQ360 Certification, you will be able to:
- Describe the concepts and relevance of emotional intelligence
- Explain the components of EQ-i 2.0/EQ360 (including the science behind the instruments)
- Analyze and Interpret an EQ-i 2.0/EQ360 Assessment
- Conduct and effective EQ-i 2.0/EQ360 debrief
- Use the information to make educated and informed decisions about your employees and/or clients
- Take the certification exam successfully
